Experience Napa Valley this holiday with three stand out red wines.
Dark ruby in color, our 2014 Cabernet offers a cascade of forward and inviting aromas of dried herb, classic cassis, sweet vanilla, floral notes and even a hint of cardamom. Quite approachable, it dances on the palate with ripe moderate tannins and good acidity. The plum/cherry flavors remain refreshing, vibrant, and focused, never weighty.
Our 2014 Napa Valley Merlot offers a brilliant, youthful, medium-dark ruby color. An array of bright and inviting aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, dried herb, and a hint of fresh basil defines the nose. I call this an “intriguing” wine in the sense that its elusive character makes you think and keeps drawing you back. The initial mouthfeel is lush, but is soon reined in by the acid and tannin structure, a hallmark of this wine and vineyard. Needless to say, this wine has plenty of life ahead of it.
Our 2014 Napa Red—a twelve barrel selection--is an ode to true elegance. Dark ruby and youthful in color, the nose offers black cherry, dried herb, and ripe plum with a background of sweet oak weaving it all together. The mouth captures our stylistic hallmarks—structure, liveliness, and balance. The wine is integrated and harmonious, finishing with an appropriate amount of grip. It is poised for graceful aging.
