Hello from Napa!                                                               Spring 2009

The recent news seems to be better these days and spring is definitely happening, so we want to keep that good energy flowing by releasing the first wine from the 2008 vintage, our 2008 Carneros Sauvignon Blanc. Just in case you’re unfamiliar, our Sauvignon Blanc has become one of our most sought after wines with accolades arriving from many different directions.

This is a wine we never tire of drinking. It goes with so many of the foods we enjoy, elevating the pleasure of a meal. The forward nose offers a profusion of aromas—ginger, mint, lime, lemongrass—as well as melon, peach, and fresh hay. There is an edge of acidity, essential to fine Sauvignon Blanc, but it is always kept surprisingly in check by the richness of the mouth.

In addition to our Sauvignon, please check out our other current releases. For those of you who pay attention to such things, just this week we received some great press on our 2005 Napa Valley Red Wine and our 2006 Napa Valley Merlot. I recently returned from a trade show in Vancouver, for more than 50 wineries, and a number of people came up to me to tell me that the Merlot was the best wine in the room. So they are definitely worth a try!

Thank you for visiting our website, and we will keep you posted on upcoming events and other market visits. There’s a good chance you might see us. We are on the road a lot!

Peter Franus
