Greetings from Napa!                                                             April 2008

As we celebrate spring, light up those barbeques and begin to dine al fresco, I can think of no better accompaniment to your meal than two of our latest releases: the 2007 Carneros Sauvignon Blanc and the 2005 Brandlin Vineyard Zinfandel.

The momentum for our Sauvignon Blanc continues to grow. The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc maintains the signature that has made this wine so popular—aromas of ginger, lemongrass, mineral, and herb. Sur-lie aging adds a richness and creaminess to the mouth.  The 2006 was enormously successful, but I have to say this is my favorite since 2004.

As for the 2005 Brandlin Zinfandel: An effusive forward nose, followed by a lush seamless mouth,make an immediate impression.  It will invariably be compared to the enormously successful 2002 vintage, and for you romantics, it was bottled on Valentine’s Day.

In my 27 years of winemaking, the last three vintages, 2005, 2006, and 2007 are among the best I’ve experienced—certainly the strongest consecutive threesome. We have a lot to look forward to!
